Cyanotype & Anthotype Workshop

Sunday | June 7 | 12 – 4 p.m.

Explore alternative photographic printing by creating Cyanotype and Anthotype images on watercolor paper. Cyanotypes and Anthotypes are both three-step contact printing techniques: making the emulsion, coating the paper, and exposing to UV light. No photography or darkroom experience necessary. All supplies included.

Polaroid Emulsion Lift Workshop

Take your instant photography to the next level! We’ll print your high contrast iPhone photos onto Polaroid instant film with a Polaroid Lab, then gently separate the image from the film frame and transfer it onto watercolor paper. The new image is translucent and very surreal, often with wrinkles or tears. No photography or darkroom experience necessary, all supplies.

The Magic of Lensless Photography
a.k.a. The Experimental Darkroom

Wednesdays | Sep 9 – 30
6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Explore alternative process photography and create stunning, unconventional images on light-sensitive paper without a lens! You will build pinhole cameras for use outside of class, then return to the darkroom where the magic will begin. You will also learn the chemical processes needed to develop paper negatives from your pinhole camera and the procedures for creating shadow-like photograms and abstract chemigrams. All supplies included and no previous darkroom experience required.

Abstract Printing in the Darkroom

Learn to think outside of traditional darkroom methods to create unique and one of a kind prints. In this class we will explore liquid emulsion, air brush applications, and photogram elements. Students are required to bring their own developed negatives [any format] to class.
